Sounds great but how much is this all going to cost?

We can't give exact prices until we've had a chance to discuss your requirements but the notes below should give you a good idea. We will not undertake any work until we've discussed what you want and agreed the price with you. To help you with the pricing we've divided our services up into a number of service packages. As an absolute minimum you need to buy a Page design package and a Hosting option from the lists below.

Basic

The simplest and cheapest option is a one page site based on one of our 'A' series templates, hosted on your current ISPs Web Space.

You would supply us with all the 'copy' (ie what you want to say) and two or three images, graphics or pictures to use on the site. If you like you could send us some of your company's headed stationery or your business card and we could copy the style of that. Provided you need less than about 200 words of text, 3 images and only one or two 'mailto' links this solution will probably be about £100 to £200 (excl VAT) for the design work. That's a one off charge and we will also include two free updates to the site during the course of the first year. (Updates are not full redesigns, just a chance for you to change some details - like prices, phone numbers, add extra products etc)

Basic Plus

Our Basic Plus Web site package costs a little more but extends your site to a maximum of 4 pages. The same design will be used on each page but the content will vary and you can choose from something based on our 'A' or something adapted from the gallery. The design work will probably still be less than £300 (excl VAT) and we will include 3 free updates - as above.

Custom

If you want something a bit different to the existing designs - something a bit more geared towards you - then we could do a custom design for you. We would aim to produce some samples for you to choose from (we'll put them on the net for you to look at them) and then put the site together based on your preferences. You'll still get a working site for about £500 (excl VAT) subject to the number of pages, forms and 'specials' you need. For this type of site - especially if it needs forms etc - it's probable you'll need hosting option H3 as a minimum - ideally H4.

Lots of ISPs offer free Web Space to their customers and also many offer very competitive deals on hosting - but working out who offers what and what's best for you can be a little complex! We are not an ISP but we try to work with you to get you on the net for a reasonable cost - helping you with the technology in the process. We do charge a small administration fee on top of what you could buy the Web space for yourself but our service is all about getting you a good deal AND doing all the research and set up for you. Please don't say 'Why do you charge £X for this when so-and-so says its only £Y?'. We know. We are offering a service, not just web space and no help.

We have worked out four different packages which we think will suit most small organisations.

H1 - using Web space from your current ISP

If your current ISP offers web space and you don't mind a URL (Web address) that's not very descriptive then we just need to make a small one off charge for loading the completed site up to your space. Typically £15 or £20 excl VAT. In order for us to do this we need to know your account details and password with your current ISP.

H2 - URL Masking

This is basically the same as H1 but we can attach a domain name on top of it. We still use your free Web space but also research and register a new domain name for you, say MyCompany.co.uk. or Wesellroses.com.

This means that your customers look at your website using www.MyCompany.co.uk rather than something less memorable like Webspace.George23.YourISPname.net.

We may also be able to set up e-mail forwarding so that mail sent to GSmith@MyCompany.co.uk finds its way to you at your current e-mail address. Charges for this start at less than £50 excl VAT for a two year registration but these do vary depending on the type of domain name. ( eg .com .co.uk, .org etc)

H3 - Using Our Web Space

If your ISP doesn't offer Web space then we can provide it ourselves. Ideally this option should be used in combination with URL masking. We have plenty of space for your site and we can normally provide mail forwarding as in H2. Charges are from about £100 excl VAT

H4 - Your own hosted domain name and Web space.

If you can stretch the budget just a little bit more the best solution in terms of flexibility and scope for the future is to get us to research and register your own domain name - and get it hosted by one of the ISPs. You will probably need help in thinking of a domain name and we will have to see what names are available but placing the domain with one of the commercial ISPs will probably give you unlimited Web space and e-mail names, plus e-mail forwarding etc etc. We can set this all up for you including your first five e-mail addresses from about £50 excl VAT. The price will vary a bit depending on the domain type (.com, .co.uk, .org, .biz etc) and your exact requirements. Once set up we can pass all the admin passwords to you or we can continue to do the domain administration for a small fee per change.

OK, now I've got my site. How do people find it?

We need to get your site registered with some search engines. That way when people need a Plumber in Herts or an Accountant in Beds (!) they will hopefully be directed to your site. This is not an exact science and we won't be able to guarantee results but we can usually get some sort of a listing with the important search engines. It really depends on how vital you think this is. If you are going to publicise your site with your company stationery and business cards and traditional advertising then people will find your site anyway. The important thing is that you do some sort of registration to ensure that your site can be found if people are looking for it.

We can offer a number of options here starting from about £25 excl VAT.

We will ask you to think of a number of key words which describe what you products and services are and handle the submissions for you once these have been built into the web site.

As well as the packages described above we offer a number of extra services which we can add as specials for a small extra charge. Here is a list of some of the things you might need us to do to get your web site up or to make it special, or which you may need for your home or office systems. Wherever we can we will use 'free stuff' from the Internet and just charge you a small admin fee. If its not in the list - just ask.
